CHOOOO CHOOO!!

How fun was this cake to make! And a  big +plus+ NO FONDANT!!! I was asked to duplicate a train cake that was found online, with a few twist of my own style=) The top cake is vanilla with pineapple coconut filling, on bottom vanilla cake w/banana filling......and covered in coconut!!... my favorite part *grin*. This train cake was for a precious little girl turning 1! The party was held at a train museum, inside a restored train....how cute is that! These pics don't do it justice, with disco dust sprinkled delicately on top of the coconut... I just loved how soft and fluffy it turned out =)

 Tahhh Dahh!!

 40th birthday cake
white w/ raspberry filling

Hand sculpted frog.....with sparkling avocado luster dust to finish her off!

i just loved this color combination! Sooo ~vibrant~

"Louis Vuitton" wallet, and glasses
The wallet had leather texture that you can't really see, and luster dust as well,  the glasses are molded out of gum paste and painted with gold luster dust....I love *sparkle*.....everywhere! lol

Happy birthday Cousin David... Christmas eve birthdays deserve special cakes too!! Red Velvet cream cheese frosting it was!

Thanks so much for taking a look!!

How'd you arrive at that number???

"WOW!!! How come it cost that much......it's just cake!?"
I came across this beautifully worded article and thought I would share. Now I have some wonderful friends/clients who know I try and give the best pricing possible!! Most of the time.....more than I should. BUT there is always the "few" that don't think cake is quite worth "that' price. At times a little discouraging because of the amount of time and supplies it takes just to make the raw cake and icing.....let alone hand molded gum paste works of art!!

There is so much more that goes into this edible form of art than just flour and icing...... hours of back breaking work (just ask the hubby hehehe) and lots of love!

Hope you enjoy Stacey's blog post as much as I did :)
